This is the first “real” physics post here. For the past couple of weeks I have been reading the Biography of Albert Einstein. I have only been ready little by little so I haven’t got really far. Only to the point of the start of World War I. It is really interesting that Einstein had so much trouble with his detachment of being human to his family, and to see the beginnings of his role as world ambassador. His struggle with his own shortcomings caused by his carelessness in school caused so much trouble in his formulation of The General Theory of Relativity. He thought that the most of high level geometry was not needed for use in physics and special features of high mathematics. Also his own doubts about what is real and what is just fancy speculation form mathematicians. The speculations into string theory does apply as if the research into the one theory can unify the atomic world with the macroscopic one of General Relativity. Earlier this summer I read the the book The Elegant Universe by Brain Greene. The more I read into this book the more I felt this does not describe how I think the universe should work. Also keep in mind that Einstein, even until his death, maintained that quantum theory did not fit his universe, in which he had helped create, kept and open mind towards that. I think it is good to keep an skeptical mindset on any theory until it has been thoroughly proven in the lab. I have become more of an skeptic as I read more into these Grand Unifying Theories. I have a little of my own, but I don’t have the tools and the time to explain it properly and also more insight into the universe.

Well, it has been a fun week.

In a landslide election, Barack Obama has been chosen by the People of the United States.

When I came to the polls here at the Presbyterian Church, around 10:35 AM, I came in. Looked around and saw my district 30 table. Verified, and picked up my ballot and changed the world. Then after choosing the best solutions for my community, I took my paper ballot and placed into the scanner.

This is the feeling of elation after changing the world. After all of the votes, the speeches and the parties now and to come. The dawn of the New World is November 5, 2008. The First day is on January 20, 2009. We will fight for a new tomorrow, a Brave New World is out there. We will be here to see it begin, a Neon Genesis of mankind.

Good night, and Goodbye from the Old World Order.

I think this season is going to be good. I like the line up so far. Here comes the introductory write up for this season.
I have watched three episodes of each.

To aru Majitsu no Index

This series started out pretty good. A girl with no memories prior to her being Japan. Running away from the enemy ending up on the balcony railing of an apartment. Touma, a low level high school student, tries to “rescue” a girl from a group of men hitting up on her. But, in the end he is being chased by the guys and he and the girl fight off the guys. They end up fighting each other and his unique talents are displayed.
It seems it like the usual a guy finds an lost girl and it starts from there, but this has a similar ring to this series. I’ll keep watching this because Index is crazy.

Rosario to Vampire Capu2

This series is way different from the manga. This second season introduces Moka’s little sister Kokoa. I think that’s about it. This is a train that wont crash onto another train, but a wall. I want to see if Tsukune gets more interaction with Moka’s other self as in the manga, I can only hope. I’ll keep watching this ruinous show just because I like the characters in action, not the story.

Clannad~After Story~

I like how this season has started. More hilarious Sunohara action and more Mrs Furukawa ( Kikuo Inoue ). She finally says “I am seventeen years old.” line. It’s her trademark. Now is the Sunohara/Sister arc I guess and to see what happens in episode four. I can’t wait, how much I like Key and KyoAni.

Toradora

After seeing the end of the third season of Zero no Tsukaima, I wanted to see more Louise type of action. It is not just plain mean tsundere behavior, but a simpler cool reaction with crazy outbursts of insanity. I like the mold being broken on Ryuuji, he looks like a killer but is a very responsible guy who takes care of his ditzy Mom after his father died. Then after his encounter with Taiga, he looks after her too. They both like other people and group up to get what they think they want. So, I’ll keep an eye on this cool/insane romantic comedy.

Kannagi: Crazy Shrine Maidens

After a long time spent carving this statue from a God Tree, he rests and remembers he has to get to class. He drags it around trying to figure out how to put it on his bike, something strange happens. a girl breaks out from the wood and calls herself Nagi. She is the god of the city in the form of a human that is living in the same house with him. You have to see what happens next with the Art Club and Akiba-kun. Yes, I like how this is going.

Yozakura Quartet

I first spotted this a manga from my local bookstore and thought it was interesting enough to buy it.Then after looking up the Japanese website, I found out they were going to make an Anime from the manga after only releasing three volumes. It took a lot of patience to finally start to see the Anime gaining momentum. Need to see how this goes, waiting for volume three here in the US.

Hello there, it would almost be better if I had fallen off the earth the past couple of weeks, But I am still here.

On the first weekend of October there was the Aki no Matsuri(Fall Festival) a Japanese festival held at the National Hispanic Culture Center on Cesar Chavez in Albuquerque NM. The festival is held every first weekend at the beginning of October to raise funds for the National Japanese Culture Center that is to be built right down the street from the NHCC in Abq. Here’s some pictures I took from the festival. The festival was not too bad, but it was full of Hawaiian influence including the Spam Sushi roll. Yeah, it was good but not great, there it was the first time I heard Japanese spoken in public, and I could understand them. Good overall.

Ok the Summer season has ended, that means the post of my opinions on the anime I watched for the summer.

sekirei

I liked this show for the obvious reasons of the fanservice. I hope there is going to a second season sometime soon so the we can get to see the other 70 or so Sekirei fight and what else. I want to see what else the MBI has to show. I think the last story arc was the best as it dealt with the actual premise of the what the Sekirei do and the few who rebel against it. The ‘death’ of Musubi-chan at episode 11 was sad and the rebirth of Sekirei 08 to save the day. Later Musubi-chan comes back and the end of the first season leaves us hanging.

Kyouran Kazoku Nikki

This is the series that has crazy written all over it. There’s a Jellyfish, a Lion, a Biological Weapon, a Loli, and a Okama.
The story is about the day to day lives of a family put together to save the world from a ancient evil. The Members of the whole family except for one is a decedent of the ancient evil. The back stories is I think is great for the individual characters. Abuse, abandonment, and other personal conflicts that make the family come together. When a family member is in trouble, here comes Neko-san tachi. I still need to see the last episode, but I’ll be looking forward for future news.

Wagayo no Inari-sama

What would happen if you mixed Ranma 1/2, Inuyasha and a Slice of Life story together. You get this series. A series that has elements of traditional Japanese mythology, modern setting, and some other stuff I can’t think about right now.
Kuugen, a fox spirit, is sealed by a family of priests and mikos, remains sealed by them until the youngest heir is called back to the home country. The two brothers and their father come back home with two new additions to their family. That goes without saying how can a spirit form the past come into Modern Japan and see the new stuff here. I think this series is good, but I still need to find the last episode to watch. Hurry and subtitle it! Please!

Zero no Tsukaima: Princess Rondo

This is the continuation of the second season. There are new characters to tease Saito, including the Elf and the Rhyme Dragon. Of course Colbert comes back from near death to surprise everyone, including Agnes to her disdain. The background into Tabitha’s life and her struggle with her past loyalties but everyone in danger. She gets kidnapped and tortured. Her friends come to her aid and save her and her soul. Lots I left out for you to figure the rest out. I can’t wait till season four of this series I guess in the Summer of ‘09.

Tetsuwan Birdy Decode

This is the sleeper series of the Summer of 2008. This has to the most interesting story I have seen in a while that wrap you up and leaves wanting for more. Aliens, retribution, and the near destruction of the earth. Birdy, the detective from space, comes to earth in pursuit of the criminal Geega. While Tsutomu comes to an abandoned building with his friend after school to look for something out of the ordinary. But at that same moment, Birdy is in battle with Geega in that same building and Tsutomu does not know it. As Tsutomu goes up the stairs and opens the door, he gets killed by Birdy accidentally and as payback, the alien saves his conciseness by merging with her’s as the aliens rebuild Tsutomu’s original body. Then they go back looking for Geega and find something more Disturbing, Ryunka.

Code Geass R2

What else is there to say about this that has not already been said. Except less people died than the first season.

Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta 2008

Bust! Went there wee early to find they canceled due to the high winds. Should’ve brought my kite instead of my Minolta Maxxum 9000 kit. That thing is heavy to lug around for more than 5 hours. You can see my Mom on KKOB News 4 for her opinion.
The last episode was full of the craziness of Meru having auditions for her voice and came across a otaku-culture reference to software. I hope I did not say too much.

This also brings up the pre-order of Hatsune Miku Figma. Yeah, I know it’s number two, but i thinks it’s great looking and fun to play with. It just shipped out earlier today.

After a long weekend and a long start to the week I was able to see more Zero no Tsukaima 3 episode 9-10. Yes, I thought it was good.

A few days ago I finished the book. I was quite impressed that the book actually got to me, brought out emotions and had me with lingering thoughts. I thought the stories were quite good and had good endings. The ending of this book brought more questions than answers.

The story of Mitsuki, and his emotion of he should not be here. Being the result of a miraculous outcome to a tragedy of his sister. Yutaka, the girl who in her presence of not wanting to swim due to a secret, brought them into that place at time to change his life.

Rikoko, after being rejected by a person she wanted to seduce, but ended up falling in love with that person. A recently deceased boy that she vaguely knew hanging around her trying to make her feel better. A earlier time of passion leads to her dismay and loneliness. A gift from that man has left with making wrong choices, and ending up with a tragedy.

The little princess lost her parents and felt alone in the world. She had a chance encounter with her Art teacher on the street and had here start to help her heal her wounds.

I really felt for the second story, I keep thinking about it. This book is a must read for people that have or once had a sense of loneliness, not being able to cope from loss and not being able the change an outcome.

Off to work!!
